Switzerland has been making headlines these years because of a hit Korean drama called Crash Landing on You.

This hugely successful TV drama follows the story of North Korean soldier Captain Ri Jeong-hyeok falling in love with South Korean heiress Yoon Se-ri. It seems like Switzerland has nothing with this drama. However, the country’s stunning and dreamy landscapes served as the perfect backdrops to some of the most memorable scenes in the drama and its teasers.
“Crash Landing on You is a beautiful story of two people coming from very opposing worlds and falling in love despite their differences. I found this story very heart-warming and inspiring!”
–said Yanina Seifermann, a German who loved watching the show and decided to visit because the locations were so beautiful.
As a fan of this drama, I’m pleased to say that I’ve already visited those imposing places before. And what impressed me most was Interlaken. In the following, I’ll introduce 5 stunning destinations I visited in Interlaken to you.
1. Harder Kulm

“If Interlaken had a king, he would reside on the Harder Kulm. ” From the viewing platform at 1,322 metres above sea level you would graciously look down upon Lake Brienz and Lake Thun, or admire the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau.
2. Lake Thun

Embedded within an imposing backdrop of mountains, the deeply-blue Lake Thun lies on the northern periphery of the Alps, between the Bernese Oberland towns of Thun and Interlaken. A cruise on Lake Thun is an experience that I’ll highly recommend!
3. Lauterbrunnen

Lauterbrunnen is situated in one of the most impressive trough valleys in the Alps, between gigantic rock faces and mountain peaks. With its 72 thundering waterfalls, secluded valleys, colourful alpine meadows and lonely mountain inns, the Lauterbrunnen Valley is one of the biggest nature conservation areas in Switzerland.
4. Jungfraujoch

A journey to the UNESCO-listed Jungfraujoch mountain is well worth the views. Standing on the Jungfraujoch 3,454 metres above sea level, you can feel it with your first step: this is a different world. It’s one you have to experience.
5. Grindelwald

The famous mountain village of Grindelwald is embedded in a unique Alpine landscape at the foot of the Eiger north face. It is the diversity of the glacier village that makes it so attractive. A wide range of activities and recreational opportunities amidst unspoiled nature is waiting to be discovered.
I‘ve been fortunate enough to visit Interlarken in 2019. I never thought there would be such a beautiful place in the world. Switzerland, unlike Italy or Germany, boasts the most gorgeous idyllic mountain scenery in my mind. So, if you have the opportunity, please have a visit to this country!
